Wireless Intruder Alarm System
We have recently introduced a new, simple, wireless intruder
alarm system which is proving to be popular. The system is ideal for homes and
small businesses and is simple and quick to install. The main panel of the
system plugs straight into a mains socket, and the other parts, such as
detectors, are battery operated and wireless, so this eliminates any need to
pull up floorboards and trail wires across your property. In most cases, the wireless
system can be fitted without a pre site survey if time is tight for you , but if you would like
a survey we are more than willing to accommodate.
The basic kits contain a control panel, a door or window
contact, an external sounder with strobe light, and either 2 or 4 movement
detectors. Various additions can be made to the system, such as additional
movement detectors, smoke detectors and dummy sounder boxes .
If you would like to learn more, please contact us and we
can send through an information pack, or discuss your individual requirements without
obligation.

Non Security Uses for CCTV
Of course, CCTV is essential for identifying persons who may
pose a threat to security, and deterring criminal activity, but CCTV has many
other uses too.
For example, CCTV can be used for quality control and
monitoring. Managers can check CCTV to ensure work is being carried out
correctly, and employees are arriving to work on time.
CCTV cameras can also be used for marketing information.
CCTV in a shop, for example, will allow you to see which areas of the shop gets
most foot traffic, which displays get the most attention, and which demographic
your shop draws in. This can help you to create better layout, displays, and
targeted advertising.
CCTV can also allow you to monitor things such as queue
length and parking availability and react accordingly by opening more tills or
overflow parking.

A Monitored Alarm Without Call Charges
Having monitoring set up on your alarm doesn't have to mean
line rental costs and call charges for setting and unsetting your alarm. New
technology means signals can be sent wirelessly to the existing alarm receiving
center. Simply have a Digi Air device fitted to your existing panel, and there
is no need for traditional wired connections for alarm communications.
Communications sent by the Digi Air device are free, with just a small
installation fee.
Not only could the Digi air save you money, but it is more
secure and reliable than the traditional unit that required BT lines. The new
Digi Air is fitted with a universal SIM card, meaning it can connect to all 4
major UK mobile networks –if one drops out, it will simply switch to the next
available network.
If you are interested in upgrading your existing system ,

Twitter Tips Roundup 2
We have posted more security tips on twitter, here is a list of them below.
- Don’t leave windows open when you are out or in another room
- Don’t leave valuables such as laptops within sight of windows
- Don’t leave your keys in the door, these can be taken through a letterbox or catflap
- Don’t leave tools etc outside your home or in the garden
- Make your property number or name clear for the emergency services to find easily
- When going out at night, leave lights on to make it look like you are in and deter thieves
- Keep spare keys in a secure place within your property
- Run lights on timer switches when you are on holiday so the lights come on at night to make it appear someone’s home
- If your mail can be seen through a window in the door, ask someone to move this for you while you are on holiday so it looks like the property is occupied
- Lock away important documents like deeds, wills etc in a safe to avoid identity theft
- Never leave a spare key under a doormat etc. If you want a spare key outside of your property in case you’re locked out, it is much better to use a combination lockbox out of view or leave it with a nearby friend or family member.
- Don’t give too much away on social media, and make sure only trusted people can view what you’re saying.
- Always lock doors even when popping out for a few minutes
- Don’t be tempted to leave the door open even if getting something from the car – thieves are quick
- Ensure a door cannot be opened from the outside through an open window etc.
- If you’re not taking your car on holiday, ask someone you trust to move it occasional to make your home look occupied.

What does NSI Gold mean?
Here at Axis Fire and Security, we have achieved NSI Gold status.
This means that not only are our site installations audited regularly by the
National Security Inspectorate, ensuring we are following industry regulations
and standard practices but also our internal procedures. This ensures all
business practices, paperwork, and procedures are examined.
The NSI operate two schemes in respect of electronic
security, Gold & Silver. Although
silver accredited companies install to the same standard, they do not always
work from business premises and their procedures are not audited and therefore they
are not accepted by all insurance companies for all risks.
Not surprisingly we are proud of our NSI Gold approval,
knowing that whatever your requirements, we will be able to provide a solution.
To find out more about the NSI, please visit their website http://www.nsi.org.uk/
